Cyclotron Synthesis Technician - Greenville, SC


Cyclotron Synthesis Technician performs a variety of routine and advanced technical duties related to preparing and dispensing PET radioactive drugs in accordance with standard procedures and techniques. Performs Quality tests and maintains Quality systems for the manufacturing of products to meet current Good Manufacturing Procedures. Performs cyclotron operation and chemistry production for all nuclear products.  This is a full-time position with benefits.


Inventory, order, receive and stock from the receiving aspect

Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used per batch record

Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed.

Ability to understand SOP and Batch record instruction

Knowledge of the occupation hazards and safety precautions necessary of assigned duties

Answering questions as asked by inspectors

Inspects and troubleshoots equipment and instrumentation

Perform internal wipes and surveys

Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and pharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, state, and cGMP

Assists in oversight of production inventory as batch is produced

Capable of drawing bulk vials and unit dose syringes, but not dispensing syringes

Complete batch record and hard copies of instrumentation results

Review and learn Radiation Safety protocols

Practice current Good Manufacturing Practices per FDA guidelines & Ensure cGMP compliance for batch record

Practice aseptic technique that has been qualified

Notifies Vice President Quality / R&D of reasons for rejection of components or finished product

Assist management during internal and external audits

Monitoring of manufacturing facility clean rooms

Document deviations, assay investigations, and out of Specifications Incidents

Support validation, engineering and production assignments

Performs other related duties as needed and specified by Vice President Quality / R&D

Communicates with various individuals (e.g. students, staff, contractors, regulatory agencies)


Job Requirements

  • BS degree in science or AS degree
  • 2 years training in a PET nuclear cGMP facility preferred
  • Work rotating shifts as early as 2:00am
  • Ideal candidate has electro-mechanical background, works independently and has flexibility in work schedule
